Tim Maw has led vehicle based expeditions across Africa, the Middle East and Asia and has completed overland journeys from the UK to Kathmandu, Timbuktu and Cape Town. His travels have taken him to more than 55 countries, often to remote regions to photograph indigenous people, wildlife and landscapes.

 

With a love of deserts, he has ridden motorbikes across the Sahara on the Skycar Expedition 2009, through Iran and Rajasthan, and in Egypt, the Kalahari and Namib, one of the hottest deserts on earth. 

 

With adventurer Neil Laughton, Tim has circumnavigated both Britain and Ireland by Jetski. They remain the only two people on the planet to complete both circumnavigations in this way. They collaborate again in 2024 to attempt to set the

 

Tim has a passion for film and photography and has had images published on many websites, in the Sunday Times In Gear magazine, Mail on Sunday and Geographical magazine. He is based in rural Kent and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
